Advanced View Movements trigger point.

  • Is there an adjustment possible in a FS4 file value to increase the view angle made to one side before the virtual pilot 'leans over' with advanced view movements selected?

Stright Ahead View. Straight ahead is above the Altitude Scale.

Looking slightly Right. Actual straight ahead is shifted wildly to the right relative to the instrument panel.

Following the previous visual reference would result in the plane swinging left and off the intended track.

Only a very slight view shift results in 'lean' causing serious distortion of the perceived straight ahead point, essential for landing with fine perception of drift or a crabbing angle into wind.

With advanced view movements off even an extreme view shift largely retains the natural straight ahead visual impression.

An adjustment of when advanced view movements kick in would allow this desirable feature to be retained without drastically affecting the natural perception when assessing a landing's actual heading direction and any needed position adjustments. This would be more authentic than displaying a MSFS type '+' or 'V' in space or showing the Aerofly 'H' key's generic HUD image.

  • Oh well! no harm in asking. I had looked in control settings for a key or switch option to enable and disable advanced view movements live in the sim, it could have allowed the ahead view point to be locked just for the landing. The menu option is not too arduous.

Thank You for replying Jan, the forum looks very ‘trying’ 😕 at this time.
