VR was working great then suddenly, broken ! Please help

  • Hi guys.

I'm fairly new to this sim so bear with me.

    I have a pretty good spec gaming pc with a 12th gen i5 , 24gb of ram and a 4060 GPU

I was playing the sim through steamlink VR and therefore wifi and it was ok, but I tried a USB cable instead and the difference was night and day,

Absolutely amazing, ultra high res and buttery smooth. To get it to run I was using the Meta app, then running steam VR , then running the game

Anyway, after about 10 plays and over 10 hours of play, all of a sudden mid flight, the FPS dropped massively and the VR very stuttery

Now the game is unplayable, I've tried everything and no matter what i do, the VR is like 1 fps , flashing off and on, just awful

nothing changed, no settings no nothing. this just started for no apparent reason.

I've done several hardware tests and everything is fine. Steam VR lobby looks spot on, but as soon as I run the game its like I have a £20 GPU

Can anyone help? is this a common issue?

I reinstalled steam VR, Meta and rebooted the headset, I havent done a complete reinstall of Aerofly as that will be a last resort

    Any help is appreicated

  • Hard to say for sure. One thing you may want to try is avoiding running it in SteamVR. Open your steam library and select aerofly start button. It should allow your pick Oculus. Generally runs a little smoother that way.

Also with Link, go to your win10/11 device manager and right click on all your usb devices/properties and if any of them have a power savings tab, disable power savings. Also, disconnect any unnecessary usb devices so you don't run out of usb bandwidth. Sorry, all I can think of.
