Is there any way in the future that the 737-900 gets sharklets? I know IPACS is working on a ton of things rn so I know something like this won't happen for a while , but I thought it was worth asking.
Thanks

Sharklets is an Airbus technology. Do you mean split scimitar winglets?
Yes, my apologies, thats what I meant to say.

He wants split skimitar winglets on the 737 900 which is I think that’s a great idea. What do you think ipacs?🤔
This also shouldn’t be hard to add. (Maybe the sculpting of the winglets could be a factor)

Yep, it’ll be easy to add something like that to the 737-900 should not be hard. I know the united 737 has them.
I think this has been discussed before but the option not considered because the MAX9 already has split winglets and this might be a tad confusing. At least i think was the reasoning before.

I mean to that logic, the a319 and a320 would be confusing as well.
Theres a noticeable difference in not just the scimitar + winglets vs the max's winglet design, but also the engine design and size as well as the apu exhaust

It would be easy to tell by the engines, and the split schimatar winglets on the 737-900 are visibly different from the maxes. Although it could be confusing for newer aviation fans.

I did talk to ipacs about the same thing when the 739 first came out.

Ok, that makes sense thanks for clarifying.
