VERY big transmission tower near Chicago?

  • Hey guys,

in the east of Chicago in AF FS4 you will see a very big transmission tower. It's height is about 4000 ft (ca. 1200 meters!). I think, this is a little mistake in scenery, isn't it? Because a funny detail is also, that the same tower is in a very small format next to the huge transmission tower, see screenshot.

Changed the title of the thread from “VERY big transmission tour near Chicago?” to “VERY big transmission tower near Chicago?”.
  • It is based on a real mast but seems part of the ongoing grossly over high features fault.

SkyVector.com page. The mast is 1251 feet above sea level in reality not the 4,400 feet currently in Aero’.

Bearing from ORD VOR is 204 degrees (024 to) in the fix page and on the nav display but 198 from/018 to on the VOR obs display and with the RMI needles. In real life it seems that ORD is currently reduced to a DME in SkyVector.com.

The navigation is more accurate using bearings from a VOR in the fix menu of the FMC/CDU. The VOR OBS and RMI needles seem to under indicate by 3 or 4 degrees. This error is similar in California and I presume elsewhere.
