We 'had to' buy it all again every year not so long ago. I keep one mobile format fully paid up and the other minimal (with the plane package though!)... and I have Aerofly PC and other sims! My Android Aerofly is just my waiting room sim (though I really like early Android FS1 on a more modern phone, it looks and feels great).
Having paid for a whole year's global scenery might be unfortunate but still not the end of the world.
