Weight, Fuel Burn, Atmosphere

  • Will these ever be addressed? I know a lot of users just want the next new shiny aircraft, but modeling these would surely take the sim to the next level.

I understand that the development team is limited in size and I am totally impressed with what they have been able to create! I just had to ask out of curiosity.

Thanks IPACS for all you have done and all you will do in the future!

  • I think with fuel burn, weight will have to be simulated a lot differently which might mean a change in the flight model for most aircraft which can take some time, and the same goes for contrails in the atmosphere as these would require a particle engine to simulate properly. In my opinion after the a350, we should just get more features like this as mentioned previously on this thread.

  • That is what I’m afraid of too. Traditionally not giving us any inkling of medium term intentions to develop the sim only hardens fears that it will be left pretty much as it is. The very vaguest of suggestions (!) of possible work being done on the environment or loading and balance or serious audio makes me lack confidence that it will ever bear fruit in FS4.
Excessive secrecy is not compatible with cultivating continuing customer loyalty.

  • Do like me and fly gliders — you don’t have to worry about fuel!

Since I use multiple flight simulators (I’ve left all my other games behind to fully embrace this amazing aviation hobby), I’ve learned to focus on the strengths of each simulator and enjoy what they offer.

There’s no such thing as a perfect simulator — and there probably never will be — but by flying a bit in each of them, I get an almost perfect learning to fly experience.

I no longer worry if one sim is missing a feature — if I need it, I just use the one that has it.

    Best regards, Juan
