Fly in the Antarctic (LowRes)

    "Fly in the Antarctic (LowRes)"-Scenery now available on flight-sim.org

    Explore end enjoy Antarctica on FS4 (by default not covered with global data streaming on).

    There is a very large coverage with low resolution including the South Georgia and all Sandwich Islands (flight distance up to 3'000 km). Flying at a higher FL is therefore recommended.

    SCRM Isle Rey Jore-Martin Base, SAWB Base Marimbio and EGAR Rothera Research Station have a higher resolution and also special objects.

    Thanks Chrispriv. I was very excited to see that you'd done this. Such a dramatic and Beautiful place. I had some fun and games getting it to work initially. At first I could only get it to work by placing it in the Aerofly FS4 default folder which is on an SSD with very limited space. Eventually found a way to get it to work in my extra Aerofly FS4 folder which is on an SSD with much more space. Looks Great. Out of interest do you have any plans to expand the areas covered with higher resolution textures? Thanks again for another great scenery package.

    Hi Matt,
    I myself usually have alle the images, sometimes even the elevation data on the extra Aerofly folder and only the scenery with the airports and POI's in the user directory of FS4 installed.
    Unfortunately, there is no reliable satellite image coverage with higher resoultion for this area. It was difficult enough to find and integrate resp. merge an image source with a higher resolution, at least for the research bases. So the answer is no, working allready on the next scenery project.
