Clear Cockpit Glass, 787 Cabin Lights, and Adding a Copilot.

  • Hey,

I have been flying with Aerofly FS4 for a while. I really enjoy it, however there are a few things that bug me.

One of my complaints are the overly transparent cockpit windows. In pretty much all of the airliners, excluding the 737’s, the cockpit glass is almost completely clear. As you can see, in this real life photo the 787 has very dark cockpit windows.

In Aerofly, the 787 has almost completely clear cockpit windows.

While this isn’t the biggest deal, it is a bit frustrating since it makes the plane look a little weird. This problem also affects the a320 family.

My second complaint is that the 787 cabin lights are way too bright, and they are very visible at night.

For me, this is problematic because it is unrealistic. Since this is a night flight, the cabin lights should be off/dimmed so the passengers can get some sleep. I think there should be an option so you can control the lights from the cockpit. Or, at least keep the lights off all the time.

    (787 dimmable windows?)

My final complaint is the missing copilot. I think the sim would be a lot better with a second person in the copilot seat for all airliners, since it looks unrealistic doing commercial flights with only one pilot in the cockpit.

In conclusion, I think Aerofly is a great sim. I would also really appreciate if you would take my complaints and consider resolving them.

Changed the title of the thread from “Complaints about Clear Cockpit Glass, and 787 Cabin Lights.” to “Clear Cockpit Glass, 787 Cabin Lights, and Adding a Copilot.”.
  • Well A380 used have a button that control the cabin lights but this update , Aerofly removed it saying it’s been control by cabin attendants which is fine but on cruise attitude. The lights never goes off or dimmed which makes flying at night unrealisti any more.😞

We didn't remove any button or knob. If the cabin lights were accidentally affected by one of the light knobs in the cockpit then it was a bug obviously.

Then Jet pack, it’s a bug then , I only fly A380, before the updates, I control the cabin lights with ambient light knob but now it has no effects and also I use to switch the AP from the captain side stick but now I can’t and if I want to , I can only do it on co pilot side stick or the AP on the AFS.

  • 787 can see thru from certain angles. I stated this awhile back but some airlines could opt for a darker exterior tint but= more money spent anyway SIA 787-10s and our late -9 currently scoot are see thru for -9s while if you look at our -10s it’s a tat bit tinted of 10%-20%

  • I agree about a co pilot, i have been asking this question for a while, it spoils the immersion, it can't be that hard to add a co pilot & would make the sim more realistic, i'm not criticising Ipacs i love this sim i'm just asking would it be possible ?
