Looking for Video Tutorials on Cold and Dark Startups, Autopilot, and Flight Planning

  • Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a place or YT channel where I can find good video tutorials on starting planes from cold and dark, using the autopilot systems, and basic flight planning?

I’m aware that IPACS provides some tutorials, and they’re definitely helpful, but sometimes I find them a bit confusing or hard to follow step-by-step. Occasionally I get stuck or end up with more doubts than answers. ^^

I also tried some from FS but are not fully applicable.

If you know of any YouTubers, websites, or even forum threads that cover these topics well, I’d really appreciate your recommendations!

    Thanks a lot!

I don’t think there’s anything particularly wrong with the tutorials overall. I tried the one for the A350, and it’s quite simple and clear. However, when it comes to the B777, the only tutorial I could find is on the Wiki. It’s very detailed, but it’s hard to follow if I want to fly a different route than the one used in the example.

I know it’s possible to add routes using Navigation in the simulator, but I’d like to input everything directly through the FMS. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to insert waypoints and airways properly, which left me frustrated. I’m aware that this may also come down to a lack of knowledge on my part, but I do feel the B777 tutorial could be improved. It would be great to have one similar to the other aircraft tutorials available on the official Tutorials website.

Here’s the one I’m referring to—it’s a bit outdated now:

The 777 tutorial is indeed very old and because of that it has not yet been moved to the new aerofly.com page. But you can also use the B787 tutorial because that aircraft works mostly the same: https://www.aerofly.com/aircraft-tutor…-cold-and-dark/
