  • Something funny about the video, is that the refresh rate is not as good as in the simulator.

When I run AFS4, it has a perfect smooth movement, I use it in 60fps since I don't like my GPU to use too much load/power, but it can easily work in 120fps without stutters. I think AFS4 is the only flight sim that can offer this, and this is one of the reasons I love it.

    Best regards, Juan

  • The funny thing for me is that the approaches to LSGG and LSZH continue to run at 2 FPS. This is still a real nightmare, at least for me. Same for the A380. However, everything is fine with all the other models!

Consequently, as I already mentioned in another thread, this doesn't happen with other airports, where everything seems smoother with rates of 100 to 130 FPS depending on the area.

    I'm in beta.
See the refresh rate shown in the bottom right corner of the images, with a short final approach, and when I get close to the ground, the rate returns to normal.

"For better or for worse" ;)

I noticed that one developer output was constantly being written to the log file which reduces the FPS a lot. But I only noticed after the video was already finished.

same problem to me!and only hanppen to a380 and a350,I’m only in LSZH area ,when over 100ft ,my fps suddenly changes from 90fps to 2fps

What can I say other than I feel your pain but do you think the problem lies in the sim or just in your specific installation? I just tried the A350 at Zurich and my fixed rate held at 60 fps all the way down to the ILS landing runway with fixes entered and two VORs tuned in. My PC has a ten years old 4770K i7 cpu running at just 4.3 GHz because that is more than I need for FS4, my graphics card is a three generations old over-clocked 2080 with 8 GB, pretty modest hardware in 2025.

Is there any way you could preserve your very many user generated add-ons and test-load a 100% fresh FS4 installation (perhaps including Steam?) to see how the current version runs in a clean state?

  • Thank you for your comment, and may your simulator still run without any problems despite aging hardware.

However, mine is obviously more recent: Processor: i7-12800HX 4,80 GHz without over-clocked / RTX 3070Ti 8GB / RAM: 32 GB

It's clear that with a clean reinstallation on Steam, which I've already done, and without any additional modules added, there are no problems with LSGG and LSZH.

And why should I deprive myself of all these additional modules, whether (Cultivations, POIs) or even airfields, when I don't encounter any problems with all the other aircraft?

I was still waiting for a response from the IPACS team, but I never received one.

I have my little idea, and maybe I'm wrong, but certainly a direct conflict with these two new navigation systems (A350-A380) which could considerably drop the IPS rates or the areas are very dense with these additional modules at low altitude.

"For better or for worse" ;)

  • As I commented in another topic, this also had happened in my pc (I7 14700KF and RTX4070TI Super) with the A350, so I think it is something in the sim. Same problem as you described, and I don't have any addon installed.

    Best regards, Juan

  • Are these add-ons all derived from the IPACS in-house scenery and aircraft user development tools? If so …

It is frustrating when issues appear to be ignored, my beta R-22’s apparent anti-torque pedal twitching with the M1 iPad pro was confirmed by another user but got absolutely no acknowledgment. Obviously there is practically no user action that could interfere with an iPad’s performance (I have an adequate 37 GB of storage space free).
With emphasis on welcome new features which must help to drive sales, there has to be a possibility that maintenance could become less urgent.
