Possible A350 issues

  • Hey everyone !

I'm just wondering if anyone has these problems on the A350 or if it's just me :

    1) The first is about the ZFWCG, when you put the ZFW and Block Fuel it doesn't automatically appear even if I double click on it... And the aircraft doesn't show the CG so there is no way to obtain any of that. Am I doing something wrong ?

    2) You can't manually change the altitude and speeds on the MCDU ? You cannot put any constraints whether you want a certain speed or a certain altitude. Is that common ?

    3) It's something that I've also seen on the A380 and it's actually not that big of a deal but still : when you select a transition altitude/level, the aircraft doesn't kind of "flash" you when you pass that certain altitude to change the pressure.

Except from that, it's actually amazing and incredible to see what they have done !

  • The EFB always calculates the same V-speeds which seem too high, as in real life you generally see the a350 taking off around the 140-150 mark, not 160-165, and landing around 140, not 155.

The pitch characteristics of the aircraft seem miscalibrated tbh, which maybe contributes to this V-speed problem. I live near Heathrow and never see the A350-1000 at the pitch angles seen in Aerofly, at equivalent speeds

I've realized that but to avoid the problem of too great an angle on the approach or high pitch as you said, I just leave speed managed so that the aircraft manages the appropriate final approach speed and I can fully focus on the landing and usually it flies great. I only remove the auto throttle at 100ft and put it back to 0 from 30ft for the flare(which you kind of have to begin at 50ft or the wheels won't survive😂)
