Adverse Yaw charracteristics of the Ask-21

  • Hello,

Does the Flight model of the ASK-21 provide any adverse yaw characteristics? When I fly the ASK-21 with all steering aids deactivated, it seems like there is almost no adverse yaw when doing an aileron input. It's been some time since I last flew an ASK-21, but doesn't it have a little bit more adverse Yaw?

    Greetings

  • But to my understanding the reason for the offset string in the turn would be due to the Kinematics of a Coordinated turn and not due to adverse yaw. The adverse yaw should only happen when aileron input is given. For example for me the adverse yaw is to slight to correctly go into an forward-slip

  • Adverse yaw is simulated in every aircraft in Aerofly FS, yes.

Currently the yaw indicator string only shows the actual side slip angle. In the real world there are 3D effects which amplify the yaw string deflection, so it actually deflects more than the actual side slip angle.

Check this video with lots of yaw strings (was an April fools joke but turned out to be very interesting)
