I have a little problem with the Boeing 737.

  • Hello virtual pilots of Aerofly FS Global.

    I have a problem with the 737 models: Boeing 737 Max9, 737-900er, 737-800, 737-500 classic.

What happens is that when I fly normally, I take off and reach cruising altitude and begin to descend, everything happens normally.

The problem occurs when I want the plane to land by itself using autoland.

I have seen the virtual pilot tutorials on PC, obviously in another simulator, obviously with the same plane. I follow the steps they say and when I enter my simulator and when I fly or practice, It seems that the plane detects the glide path but does not start to descend automatically, instead I do the same procedure in the triple 7 both cargo and passengers, in the 747, in the 787 And everything works perfectly fine.

How can I make the plane land by itself, by the way I don't mean activate the autopilot that makes the plane take off and land and make the whole flight without me doing anything, I mean To manipulate the autopilot yourself and make the plane land. How do I do it?

  • Can you please show us a screenshot of the issue? We may be able to spot what's going on.

Check that the assistance for auto-tuning is enabled or make sure to manually set the ILS frequencies and course on both navigation receivers and the course on the MCP to the same value. Then intercept the localizer beam and once that is captured you need to intercept the glide slope beam. Only when the intercept is detected and when the localizer mode is already engaged and when you have armed the glide slope capture (by pressing the APP button) will the autopilot capture the glide-slope.

The 737-500 is not capable of landing itself, the autopilot will disengage close to the ground. The 737-800 and 900 can touch down on their own but you will have to take over control shortly after touchdown, because our aircraft is not equipped with the fail operational CAT III autopilot. The 737 MAX however is equipped with that and a full autoland is possible, with rollout to complete stop (using autobrake for example).
