China Southern 777F and ZGGG

  • just a couple things i noticed while flying the china southern 777 freighter yesterday out of guangzhou airport. the text on the side of the aircraft which currently says Boeing 777 should say Boeing 777F on both the front fuselage text as well as the smaller text towards the back. a tiny edit is all that is needed.

secondly, the approaches don't line up in guangzhou. not only are the runways mislabelled between the actual runways, and the navigation menu, but the approach lines when trying to set approaches up aim for taxiways rather than where the runways are (screenshots attached)

i hope these can be fixed sometime.

This problem with approaches to Chinese airports is due to the fact that Aerofly FS's AIRAC navigation data is extremely outdated and inconsistent with current procedures. This is why you're experiencing these route errors on approaches. This problem is widespread and occurs not only at Chinese airports but also at other airports around the world.

HKG does the same thing. 07C/25C is apparently 7L/25R in the nav menu. runway on the very left gets totally ignored, despite being the real 07L/25R. just airac needs updating is all i suspect

Unfortunately, the simulator's extremely outdated AIRAC generates the navigation errors you're experiencing at Chinese airports. And it's not just in China, but several airports around the world have navigation errors and procedures that don't match current ones. In Brazil, for example, there are several outdated procedures at SBJR Airport. There are RNAV/RNP approach procedures at this airport that aren't present in the simulator, which irritates those who enjoy performing something consistent with reality. This is just one example of an airport with outdated or missing procedures. There are many airports around the world in the simulator that have very outdated procedures.

  • I can confirm that. Some approaches into Guangzhou ZGGG run into taxiways (ILS 20L and ILS 02R) and in VHHH the approaches ILS 07L and ILS 025R seem to be labeled incorrectly.

Extremely outdated AIRAC navigation data from the simulator is the main cause of these navigation errors and the presence of incorrect and faulty procedures. By selecting these outdated and faulty procedures, the aircraft can execute an inaccurate and incorrect trajectory, potentially misaligning the runway or even landing on the taxiways. This is a chronic problem that affects not only Chinese airports but also several other airports around the world. The best solution to these issues would be to integrate Navigraph with Aerofly FS to update this navigation data to the latest version. This topic has been widely discussed in other threads, but the developers have no interest in bringing this important feature to the simulator, nor is there a clear desire to solve this problem in the short term. I consider it a waste of time and a futile effort to create threads about navigation issues in the simulator due to the extremely outdated AIRAC, since there is a clear and absolute lack of interest in definitively solving this problem through Navigraph.
