New to aerofly fs4

  • Just installed aerofly today and have a couple of questions.

1.after setting up my velocity1 rudder pedals I noticed only one of the brake pedals work,I tested this in vr and when using the brake pedal there was no pull to the left or right I seemed to get equal braking is this normal or have I set up the rudder inputs wrong.

    2. After starting a vr flight and using the space bar to centre the cockpit view I adjust the height up or down by using the page up/down key but can’t find the keyboard assignments for move in/out can someone direct me to where I can view the keyboard assignments for fs4.

I’m very happy with the way fs4 works in vr mode on my system apart for the shimmering when looking down on the cities but will change some settings to see if I can improve this.

  • Make sure you assign each separate brake axis. Regarding VR, in all the years I've been flying this sim, I have never had to adjust the viewpoint, just center it.

I'll add, I've only been flying the A320 and A350, the seat position is correct, perhaps it is different with other aircraft.

Regarding shimmering, if you have a strong rig, you should be able to max everything. Vulcan seems to be glitchy with stutters, though, and I run a 5080 with a powerful CPU, I stick to OpenGL and max out the settings in the Oculus debug tool. Gives me 90fps and perfect visuals

  • In the control assignments, make sure to assign the left pedal to the left wheel brake and the and the right pedal to the right wheel brake. Don't assign both of them to the basic "wheel brake" which acts on both simultaneously.

In the view category you can assign keys to up/down, left/right and forward/aft. The fwd/aft should be right next to the up/down that you already assigned.
