R22 rudder bug with the Apple M processors

  • I managed to capture the error on video, which Overloaded brought to our attention.

    The phenomenon:
When using the Limited frame rate setting, when you press any rudder pedal, the helicopter first turns about 5 degrees to the right, stops, and then turns in the desired direction. This error also occurs on low and ultra graphics quality settings. If the frame rate is not limited, the error does not occur.

My device is an Ipad Pro M5, os: ios26, app: beta 1.5.9 (1225).

    Note:

According to Overloaded, the bug was already present in the public version of the app, meaning it is independent of the beta version.

  • It is reduced but not absent with unlimited frame rates. I posted a video about 3-6 months ago and got no response.

Thanks for having a look and for trying to get some attention.

Note out of control pedal twitching.

(I am not sure but there might be something going on with my M1 iPad and the 737-800 throttles. I get very occasional asymmetrical power advancement and/or reverse thrust. I use the -800 out of habit so the plane in use might not matter.
I wonder if a finger tip panning the screen might somehow activate/deactivate the throttles. I like to pan down and swipe the flap lever.)

  • Gee that is superb investigation, intuition, inspiration whatever! Yes it works brilliantly and another thing is the annoying reluctance of the control sliders to intimately follow finger tip glides over the screen seems to have gone too, the sim’s responsiveness is subtly yet significantly enhanced.

The yellow low power mode ‘warning’ in the corner of the screen is new to me and from now on will be a must have badge of quality with the Aerofly flight simulator.
