Some controllers (e.g. Thrustmaster T.A320) cause view to rotate to looking at the roof after first start - PART 2

  • Bump this issue (2022) in a new thread.

    Environment:

    • Aerofly FS 4 Version 4.07.06.01 (20250924)
    • Mac M3 Max
    • OS Sequoia 15.6

    Reproduction steps:

    1. Using T.A320 TCA Sidestick
    2. Press Start
    3. Pull back on the stick

Problem: View is rotated to the roof

I tried the linked "solutions" and the problem still did not resolve.

Work-around: Use the directional thumb control on the stick to pull the point of view back down. After that pulling back on the stick affects the yoke as normal. Edit: this will fix the problem for as long as Aerofly stays open, but recur after reopening.

EDIT: this appears to occur on any aircraft

  • With my configuration, it almost always happens when connecting controllers that usually 1 switch "jams", usually it is a switch in connection with view. Therefore, as my pre-start-routine, I move all switches.

    Configurations:

    - MacBook Pro (16", 2024); Chip: Apple M4 Max; actual macOS
    - Controllers: | WinWing: URSA MINOR-Fighter-Joystick R, EFIS-L & FCU & EFIS-R | Thrustmaster TCA AIRBUS EDITION: 2x Quadrant, 2x Quadrant Add-On | Pro-Flight-Trainer: PUMA X | Steelseries: Nimbus+

    - iPad (12,9", 4th Generation, RAM: 6 GB); actual iOS | Steelseries: Nimbus+

  • If this is affecting other controllers I'll update the title accordingly.

Yes, I also have the error with the joystick from WINWING.

But since I always have to synchronise the levers with the TCA quadrant anyway (move completely once), this does not bother me with the joysticks.

Changed the title of the thread from “Thrustmaster T.A320 Pilot rotates to looking at the roof after first start - PART 2” to “Some controllers (e.g. Thrustmaster T.A320) cause view to rotate to looking at the roof after first start - PART 2”.
  • I could not get my TCA stick and throttle quadrants to work properly (mainly due to the throttle) so I have put it in storage and bought the cheaper Thrustmaster Hotas 1. I set that up according to Huddison's "setting up the Hotas 1 from scratch" youtube video which is very easy to follow. Maybe that option might suit you?

  • Thank you AOB for the tip but I'd rather not buy redundant equipment. :/

Jet-Pack I tried your suggestion by removing all assignments. In particular, removed POV Up for both key and control and that seemed to resolve the problem but caused other problems (and of course loss of functionality).

Simplest work-around: press POV Up on the stick (directional control) before Start.

  • To add to the conversation, maybe this note helps with the troubleshooting. I noticed the same issue on Mac.
After a month or so of not playing, I loaded up the sim and went into the settings for the TCA. There I could see that the POV button to look up is already registered as being actively pressed - as if there is a wrong initialization somewhere. Not sure though if it’s from the sim or the TCA. The fact that other controllers have the same issue makes me think is the sim…
