Winter Texture for Switzerland by chrispriv

  • Thanks Christophe for this winter integration adapted for FS4, it's always greatly appreciated!

Observation: On the Chasseral side everything is OK!
Consequently, I've noticed that certain areas that always overlap with parts that remain green? Like here in Reichenbach. Same in Saanen, perhaps due to the ORBX scenery? Or Could this be due to a problem with the data being loaded incorrectly onto my card? This is despite global scenery being disabled, and the image being deleted from the SD folder.

Has anyone else encountered this same problem?

  • Hi Pascal,

Did you follow the instructions under "Note", as it is exactly the overlay with the high-resolution areas of IPACS streamed images I mention.

The only restriction is if the airfield itself has grass aprons or runways, as for example it's the case for Reichenbach airfield:

Else the work around should work, as long as you don't use other scenes with high-resolution images.

    Regrads,
    Christophe

  • I understood this "Note" very well, Christophe, there's nothing to be done, it doesn't charge properly for me, I've tried other solutions, but it's not a big deal. However, overall it's a good result.

  • From somewhere, you still have some level 14 images witch has a higher priority for this areas.
So, maybe do you also have installed the Aerofly FS 4 - Scenery: Europe Part 1 DLC?
In principle, this is no longer necessary with global data streaming, so you could save on disk space.

  • Uninstall Europe 1? Yes and no.

    I understand what you're saying.

Yes, I activated Europe 1, for one very good reason, which was already mentioned here on March 25th of this year.

And since then, this problem still hasn't been resolved by IPACS???
If you want to see this magnificent hand-crafted EDGM airfield, you absolutely must activate Europe 1, and I think there are others in this situation.

If you deactivate Europe 1, you end up with the image below.

You know as well as I do that with this simulator you have to make a lot of compromises.

As for this texture problem, nothing changes, with or without Europe 1.

On another note, Chaux-de-Fonds has the same problem from around Les Eplatures to the city exit, roughly at the hospital.

Then the white texture reappears towards the Jura mountains.

And if I disable Global Scenery and delete the last L14 files still lingering in the SD image folder, OK, Chauds-de-Fonds is covered in a blanket of snow, but without a single building, just like in Saanen and Gstaad.

  • I even deactivated __ch_swiss_border as a precaution, but that doesn't change the situation.

  • I solved the problem last Wednesday.

I cleared the RAM cache and everything is working normally again.
A memory bottleneck can cause this kind of issue.
