There's an addon for MSFS2024 called WFSNMEA that makes it super easy to connect the sim to XCSoar running on the same PC, on another window.
1. Launch MSFS
2. Launch WFSNMEA
3. Launch XCSOAR
The key is that XCSoar is also running on Windows, which makes it possible to be displayed as a floating window in VR.
I've tried connecting Aerofly to XCSoar with no luck. I suspect because Aerofly assumes it should be running on another device, not the same PC.... Is this something we could have in the future?

Hi Captain, I was waiting that the UDP tow plane bug was fixed to come back to this, but yes, it can be used in the same Windows PC, I tried this.

That sounds great, thanks! Now that you mention it, I remember reading about the tow plane bug on the forums... Hopefully there'll be a fix soon!
Gliders in Aerofly are fantastic, and even if the clouds are not linked to the thermals, the physics and loading speed makes up for it. Being able to connect it to XCSoar would be great to keep current during the long winter months.
