Autopilot engage? from menu

I have noticed that the Autopilot options are grayed out other than simple hold. What happened to autoland at nearest airport which worked well before update? I have tried in A320 , A350 etc.

when lined up on a runway the option appears - dont recall having to do this prior. It was quite fun to be nowhere near at extreme bank angles to be 'rescued' by autopilot / autoland

I think you mean the copilot, not the autopilot? The alignment has been required for a while now, that's not new with this update. Letting the copilot land the aircraft should still work as before because we also didn't change much there either. At which airport are you trying to land and on which runway?
