Winwing Products

  • Hello! i am thinking about buying some winwing stuff to use for flight simming, I have been told it is incompatible. is there a way to fix this? would you or winwing have to make it compatible? Would be cool since the sim is amazing and i don't really feel like buying them for use in another sim. Thanks

  • The official documentation provides some APIs, but no one seems to be working on adapting them. You can try it if you have the skills, but otherwise, only the joystick might work.

I see, yeah no i got zero experience, acording to earlier posts they work but the screens don't add up. is this because the product can't get those numbers out of the sim?

  • I have this one from WINWING on my Mac:

    (1) URSA MINOR Fighter Joystick: This is fully compatible.

    (2) FCU with EFIS-L and EFIS-R: These are partly compatible
In terms of compatibility, a distinction must be made between switches/buttons and gauges:
    - The switches/buttons basically work. However, these can only be coupled with the FS 4 for those functions offered in the MENU SETTINGS CONTROLLER of the FS 4. For example, only AP(MASTER) and not AP1 and AP2 are currently available for the autopilot. Here, however, IPACS improves again and again in my experience.
    - With the digital ads it looks different, here unfortunately no values are written back so far.

This is great info! But what do the screens say while not giving values? and would it be worth buying still? Could you maybe add me on discord or something and record a little video? that would be absolutely amazing

  • I don't need to record a video, because all LED elements are permanently lit.

  • Why should I photograph something that looks exactly like the WINWING website?

  • True, there are sometimes significant deviations, both in appearance and in feel as well as in function.

My experience with the WINWING products I use is:
    - The appearance corresponds to the photos on the website - I can't take more realistic photos.
    - I like the feel.
    - The functions are as described (as far as they can be implemented in FS 4 and with a Mac).

I am on the WINWING products through the Youtube channel of Capt. Ingo came. He offers a very comprehensive training as a PC pilot in German and occasionally he looks at the hardware from his point of view as a long-time professional pilot on Boeing and Airbus.

I will probably gradually switch my TCA products to WINWING products.

  • I have two screenshots for the combination EFIS-L & FCU & EFIS-R that show which buttons are currently (!) can be assigned in the FS 4 menu:

IPACS expands from time to time in the SETTING / CONTROLLER menu the possibilities to establish further connections between external devices and FS 4. Unfortunately, I have not yet found a way to make further connections directly in the gc-map.mcf. At least this is a big wish of mine to IPACS.

Unfortunately, no ads can currently be read back to external devices in the FS 4 on a Mac - at least I haven't been able to do that yet. This is also a wish for IPACS on my list.

  • Matching the topic WINWING a few hours ago Capt. Ingo, from his point of view, as a long-time Airbus pilot, published a 50-minute view of two products:

Capt. Ingo is a German pilot who lives and flies in Asia. From my point of view, it is worthwhile to look at his considerations, because he always includes a lot of information about reality and the uset.
