Hi IPACS team, is there any possibility of adding some camera shake to VR? Understand this might make people sick but it would be good to have it as an option as it feels too stable currently.

Camera shake is not something we want to add because it's fake and physically incorrect. Instead the aircraft should shake around the camera like in the real world. This means that on a hard landing the camera trajectory would remain somewhat smooth whilst the aircraft moves abruptly. Because that would be physically correct the VR motion sickness would be much less than artificially shaking the head.

    Regards,

I completely agree with Jet-Pack. To me, the point of VR is to make flight simulation both more immersive and realistic. Adding things like camera shake and lens flare defeat that purpose. You wouldn't see lens flare in the cockpit unless you were looking through a camera.

Yea I understand that; however, I don't have a 5000 dollar motion simulator. So the option for some simple camera shake on landing etc would be appreciated.

you don't need a full motion sim, just use a transducer. I couldn't think of anything worse than artificial camera shake for VR. You can pick up a good tranducer for under £100
