I use the P-38 90% of the time and the rest is the 172.
What gauges do I need to be watching when trying to manage my fuel air mixture? What do I need to look for?
I always just set it to full rich and even when I’m up at high altitudes, like around 15k feet or 20k feet I watch the manifold pressure to see if lowering my mixture will give me more manifold pressure or something but it doesnt seem to change any readings on the gauges until ive almost pulled the mixture most or all of the way and then obviously the engine loses a bunch of power or cuts out.
