There is a magenta bearing in number that I think should be connected to the autopilot course but it doesn’t change, I need to look at the PFD to see the course . This is in the CRJ 900

On the flight information the course is not shown. On your screenshot the only magenta bug is the selected airspeed of the autopilot. On the HSI in the flight info the magenta bug is the selected heading of the autopilot. It changes when you change the selected heading, not the course for the navigation receivers.
