Since March 2025 the Missionsgerät has collected some insightful data about its usage. Of all browsers which did not block the small statistic tool, here's what happened:
Since March 2025 there have been 612 imports and 557 exports.
The majority of imports were from SimBrief, using the PLN export of SimBrief as well as the API.
The majority of exports were Aerofly Custom Mission Files, but there were also some PLN and FMS file exports.
fyWeather was most often not added using the integrated METAR service - but using the SimBrief API almost in all cases weather has been imported.
Most origins and destinations had the ICAO code "RJ.." (121) being Japan, followed by "EG.." (75) being Great Britain and "ED.." (57) being Germany.
For aircraft, airliners were dominating:
- A320 (79)
- B737 Max 9 (62)
- A321 (50)
- And the good-old C172 (50)
- B737-800 (49)
- A319 (45)
- A350 (42)
...with lots of more aircraft being in use, even the Jungmeister bi-plane.
Since tracking if an export was supposed to have guides or not, 50% of the flights had the visible virtual guides removed.
In the last two months there has been a steep incline of usage. If cannot tell if this means more missions per user or more users in general (the tool complies with European GDPR regulations, so it does not track users), but generally it seems like there is a growing demand, centered on SimBrief flight plans for airliners.
So I am quite happy to provide the Missionsgerät for the community. Hopefully we will see more flight plans tools providing native Aerofly export, or Aerofly providing an integrated import.
Cheers, and a good 2026 to all of us.
