I was about to make a complain cause I always have to fly manually but I have tried the copilot feature and they turn before the actual waypoint now. Im quite surprised that I haven't really known that its now fixed 
I can finally sleep during the Monterey to Sacramento flight with a detour flying over Las Vegas or something so I can cruise at FL300 & above. (I dont have global scenery

Why don't you fly in cockpit mode with the autopilot? It's much nicer than with the copilot 👍

Looks like a direct to segment, which means it just flies to the next waypoint and lateral deviations don't matter.

Oh that sounds very cool, is there an option to fly strictly within the flight plan? I also tried to spawn at cruise on the high-speed turn but it missed it/overshot the route. I tried both aircraft A/P and Co-pilot with it, I think I'm missing something lol

How about reading the tutorial first? Everything is described in great detail there; the developers have put a lot of effort into it.

I've done everything that it said to do there, theres nothing specific about what is happening to me though.
