Ai Voices to improve Aerofly

  • Hey,

as we talked about the improvements of the navigation system pretty constructively in my opinion, I want to start another request for a really nice improvement of Aerofly.

I know, there have been some threads about integrating Ai ATC. But, as long as AF doesn’t support multiplayer (which would be awesome as a cross platform sim btw.), we should give the defs a much lower bar at the moment.

What about some crew phrases? Like a standard welcome to the passengers and the safety briefing? Therefore you won’t even need real Ai, they could just implement like a few recorded speeches. Something like:

All doors in Flight. (short break)

Ladies and gentlemen, we’d like to welcome you aboard of this flight. My name is … and I’d like to guide you through the safety instructions now. Please put your seat in an upright position, stow your tables and switch off your mobile devices or set them to airplane mode….” and so on. Something generic that could be used on any commercial flight around the globe. And only in english, to keep it easy. It should be triggered automatically, for example if beacon light is switched on and it should take some time during the engine start and taxiing. At least when turning on the strobes there should be an automated captain voice say “Cabin Crew, please prepare for take off”. Than there should be an announcement when turning on/off seatbelt signs during the flight, when reached cruise level, started the descent, when in short final (cabin crew again) and when landed a last good bye from the crew and when landed and switched off beacon they could say “all doors in parking”. If some of you use Infinite Flight, this may absolutely remind you of the external app “IF Passengers”. And thats simply what I request as an in app support. cause for general usage, you only may need some standard phrases. These could be generated by an Ai Voice and doesn’t really need to be recorded by real humans just in terms of cost and time consumption. I lerned sound engineering and having a few of such sound files doesn’t really need this much storage of a device cause they simply could be like small mp3 files and playing some audio doesn’t really use that much cpu power, so even older devices may easily handle this.

And when using Ai Voices to create these files for usage, you can easily expand that feature fast with speaches fitting to liveries (Ryanair, Lufthansa, Delta …) implementing the captains talk with ground for push and start and may even simply open up the door for the simulation of ATC. But for the entry the usage of on board crew audio would be pretty awesome for now.

What do you think about it? (Especially IPACs)

    Greetings

  • That sounds quite straightforward to implement with an external app, just read the values of switches/engines/telemetry/etc and trigger playback when certain conditions are met.

Would it be realistic, though, can pilots hear such sounds like cabin announcements?

  • In the C130 in development, there are such announcements from the cockpit crew.:)

  • I used to create and design such high quality voicepacks/soundpacks for every airline I used to fly in FS9 years ago, and the tool that used to play these sounds back was my VA's own SmartCars application, that tracked the flight, provided a database to choose flights, a onboard flight planner, a pilot communication chat and also an integrated file-player that played the soundfiles in 7 stages of the flight, to add a nice level of realism.

I still have these sound packs saved somewhere, for 92 different airlines, but I can no longer use them, as no tool exists that does everything that SmartCars used to do. I'll keep the files in case it can be of use in the future, who knows...

that’s awesome, mate. Get in touch with iPacs. The app sends flight informations when activated in the settings. Maybe these informations can be gathered by another app except FS Widgets. And therefore can trigger the sounds at certain points. IPACS Support

  • Great idea! I'd love that. It also makes flying solo without multiplayer less lonely:D

I used InfiniteFlight before and used IF Passengers for a long time, it really adds realism and I don't think it's taking too much storage either..

Would be really happy if we could see this feature in some time (also for mobile):saint:
