Runway Heading/Name Mismatch on Several Airports

  • Hello IPACS Team,

I’ve noticed that at several airports, the runway information seems inconsistent. For example, at SBGR (as shown in the attached screenshot), the runway heading/name displayed on the map doesn’t match the one listed in the airport details. I believe this is related to magnetic headings and/or AIRAC cycle updates, which might have caused the mismatch.

It’s a bit confusing when planning or flying, so it would be really great if the team could review other airports as well to see whether similar inconsistencies exist and correct them.

Thank you so much for your continuous improvement and support — it’s really appreciated, and your work makes a huge difference for all of us!

    Kind Regards,

    AeRodri

  • The deviations are unfortunate. They arise because the data comes from two different sources:

    (1) The information in the airport map is entered by the airport creator when naming the runway in the TAP file of the airport and then converted into the WAD and TSC files.

    (2) The information in the table on the right comes from the database of FS 4.

Both data holdings are independent of each other.

When I create airports for the FS 4, I orient myself as much as possible to the current AIS plans, but at the same time I also look at what the database of the FS 4 shows. In case of deviations, I have to decide which value I take over, so that the other value is always wrong.
