Slovakia news - It's finished :)

  • For everyone who's been waiting for a week: I didn't want to release it yet because I had another update planned with Bratislava. That was finished last night. I think it was worth it. :) You'll be surprised. I'll also be contacting everyone who wanted the scenery.

Anyone who wants the Slovakian scenery with Vienna and Budapest can contact me. And as I mentioned, this is a major project, taking about five months to complete, so I'm always grateful for a small donation as a token of appreciation. My images have been painstakingly restored with sweat, tears, and a great deal of work, so you can enjoy a seamless and immersive flight experience.

    Enjoy! :)

    Here are some initial impressions:

    Hope, you like it. :S

Hahaha - no, that's staying - that's pure nostalgia! ^^ I'm sending you the Bratislava update now.

  • With a great scenery like this one, AFS4 can be an amazing flight simulator to explore landscapes and new regions, the Robin DR400 is great for doing this!

The scenery is 25Gb+ of pure high quality material.

    Best regards, Juan

What in the AI is this 😂😂. I am from Slovakia and the locations of mountains and cities, or even airports is nowhere near the reality 😂😂

  • Oh! ChatGPT and it imagination, I will delete it. I was happy to fly there :D

Thanks for the correction, it seems that this information may be true, I hope so 8o

Where people actually fly gliders in Slovakia (real clubs + airfields)

    1) Nitra Airport (LZNI) — Aeroclub Nitra

    • Active gliding and training (the aeroclub lists training on L-13 Blaník / L-23 Superblaník).
    • Host of the Pribina Cup (international gliding competition in Nitra).

Why it’s useful for sim routing: Nitra is in the southwest lowlands; it’s a well-known base for XC competition tasks (good for “contest-style” routes).

    2) Prievidza Airport (LZPE) — Aeroklub Prievidza (GlidingPARADISE)

    • The club explicitly presents itself as a glider-flying organization and publishes the airfield details (ICAO LZPE) and even WGS84 coordinates.
    • Their site lists/mentions competitions (including FCC gliding).
    • Their homepage also references major events hosted there (example: Junior European Gliding Championships 2025 in Prievidza).

Why it’s useful for sim routing: Central Slovakia, closer to ridge-capable terrain than Nitra.

    3) Slavnica / Dubnica Airport (LZDB) — Aeroklub Dubnica nad Váhom

    • The aeroclub states they do powered flight, gliding (non-powered), and parachuting, and that they’re part of the Slovak national aero club structure.
    • The airport is commonly referenced as LZDB.

    4) Martin Airfield (LZMA) — Aeroklub Martin

    • Public grass airfield operated/owned by Aeroklub Martin; ICAO LZMA.
    • The club site explicitly offers a “glider pilot course” (Kurz pilota vetroňov).

    5) Slovak National Aero-Club (umbrella org)

    • Slovakia’s official tourism portal notes that fans of gliding are united in aero clubs that are part of the Slovak National Aero-Club, and that you can fly across the territory (general statement, not a list).

    Competitions you can cite safely

    • Pribina Cup — run in Nitra (Easter period is typical; see official site/tourism portal).
    • FCC Gliding — referenced by Aeroklub Prievidza / GlidingPARADISE.
    • Junior European Gliding Championships 2025 in Prievidza is referenced on Aeroklub Prievidza’s site.

    Best regards, Juan

  • How to contact you for the Vienna scenery files? You are doing some bravo work for the Aerofly community. Keep xchugging away.

    Send me a PN.

It used to be Flight-sim.org and I have much more for everyone who is new here and doesn't know me yet.

  • Hiho Schnuffi,

    Merci

    Froher Gruss :)

Mit "Hauptordner" meinst Du dennoch einen Ordner in Deinem Nutzerverzeichnis - oder? Generell empfiehlt IPACS, ausschließlich Kleibuchstaben zu verwenden.

    Ansonsten müsste es passen.

    ----------

By "main folder" you still mean a folder in your user directory - right? In general, IPACS recommends no using of capital letters.

Otherwise it would have to fit.

    Tschüss, Michael (🍎🚁)

  • Will it be available for the mobile version?

  • Even if I could implement it for mobile, I don't think I would. Because: I don't have the mobile version myself and I'm not interested in it, since I only fly in VR/PC. So I wouldn't be able to test/check my own work. In addition, it would involve a completely different workload, which would certainly be considerable. Developing for the PC version is already a lot of work. I'm focusing on that.

No, you'll create it and send it to the IPACS team, and they'll add to it. It's the same way in Real Flight Simulator.
