I tune the Nav radio to a VOR, and activate it, and my HSI works just like it should with VORs. When i click NAV on the autopilot it doesnt do anything or start turning to fly towards the VOR. What am i doing wrong?
I cant get the B58 autopilot to follow my nav radio

You need to ‘walk’ the plane into the selected radial towards or away from the ground station.
Start with flying vaguely towards the beacon and turn the central HSI Horizontal Situation Indicator course select knob (marked as —>) equivalent to the VOR dial’s OBS knob to bring the Course Deviation needle into view.
Set it all up so that the plane is gradually bringing the needle into the course select pointer’s centre. Selection of NAV on the autopilot will allow the Baron to lock on once the course needle has centred and it will track your selected radial.A search online or in YouTube will give you nice pictures and video to help it all make sense! (It is also fun to just play with it and discover how it works).
The bottom left NAV 1 dial displays the same information as the HSI but in the conventional VOR/OBS manner like NAV 2. The autopilot only follows the setup on the HSI.
The plane is flying on the 270 heading and is soon going to intercept the course 230 To VOR radial from its left. Selecting NAV at this time will have the plane’s autopilot intercept, lock on and follow the course 230 TO the beacon. The upwards pointing To/From white triangle indicates tracking to the VOR. Flying away from the beacon with the HSI’s to/from white triangle indicator pointing downwards will allow autopilot tracking away from the VOR.

Thanks for the help, the Baron has very gentle tracking for the NAV which ends up making it more efficient flying on victor airways
