Hey guys, one thing I think Aerofly is lacking is a large multi role (civilian, military, offshore, HEMS, coast guard) helicopter and after some thought I have decided that I think the next best helicopter for Aerofly is the Sikorsky s-92 helicopter.

    A bit of background:

The Sikorsky S-92 is a twin-engine, medium-lift helicopter developed by Sikorsky Aircraft. First flown in 1998, it’s widely used for offshore oil transport, search & rescue (SAR), VIP transport, and government operations worldwide.

    Key Specs (Real-World)

    • Twin GE CT7-8A engines
    • Cruise: ~150 knots
    • Range: 500+ nautical miles
    • Service ceiling: ~15,000 ft
    • Up to 19 passengers
    • Advanced glass cockpit & autopilot systems

Why It Would Be Ideal for Aerofly

✅ Mission Variety – Offshore rig runs, ship landings, SAR missions, VIP transport, long-range coastal flights.

✅ Advanced Systems – Modern avionics would add depth for procedural flying and IFR capability.

✅ Performance Balance – Fast and powerful, but still requires precise control on approaches.

✅ Real-World Relevance – A globally recognised working helicopter, not just a niche aircraft.

✅ Great for Scenery – Perfect for coastal maps, mountains, oil platforms, and challenging weather.

The S-92 would add a modern, multi-role heavy helicopter to Aerofly’s lineup and open up a whole new category of realistic mission flying.

some nice chat gpt there :D

It would be pretty cool just to throw it around in the sim few confines space landings or hovering with the ramp open:D

I just wanna see a really versatile chopper that you could fly in the game with loads of different liveries to simulate it’s different real world operations.

And why not a Vought VS-300? We're still staying within the Sikorsky family.

"For better or for worse" ;)

    Win11 / i7-12800HX / RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB / 32 GB RAM / 2 x 2 TB SSD M.2 2280

If we hadn't already tackled another challenging project 🚧😎🚧, I would stand up for this oldtimer helicopter. In my opinion, it is a good practice project because it seems to me to be very manageable. 😆

    Configurations:

    - MacBook Pro (16", 2024); Chip: Apple M4 Max; actual macOS
    - Controllers: | WinWing: URSA MINOR-Fighter-Joystick R, EFIS-L & FCU & EFIS-R | Thrustmaster TCA AIRBUS EDITION: 2x Quadrant, 2x Quadrant Add-On | Pro-Flight-Trainer: PUMA X | Steelseries: Nimbus+

    - iPad (12,9", 4th Generation, RAM: 6 GB); actual iOS | Steelseries: Nimbus+

Why not, I doubt if Coast Guard means much to our friends south of Stuttgart.

Remember 'Kolibri' the East German agent in Deutschland 83?

For small helicopters you should actually be able to use the TMQ files of the R22 to a large extent.

However, Gyrocopter and Flettner are somewhat new and should therefore require significantly more effort.
