Added Turbulence Shock Feature

  • What do you think if the turbulence effect were added to the game?

    • Adding this effect would make the flight simulation more realistic, especially when we penetrate or pass through thick clouds. There should be a turbulence effect that can be felt in the cockpit.

So, what do you all think if this feature/effect is added in a future update?

    Stuka---

  • Now that we are talking "Turbulence", what is the exact effect in the sim? I mean, we all know what Turbulence is, but how does this play out in AeroFly? Do we notice any difference in the flight dynamics? Is it only during departure / arrival or mainly in cruise?

  • You're not thinking of this setting, are you?

Although there's a turbulence setting in the Settings section, it's a useless setting. Because increasing that setting will cause constant turbulence. It will always have to be adjusted manually. This is ridiculous. They still haven't brought any real weather conditions to this simulation. Keep using those junk planes, you iPACS teams!

Effect in the sim is patchy turbulence, Windshear on approach, and departure (up to 15 knots fluctuation at max settings), and maxing out thermals gives some interesting results. Have a read of the 777 crash in Dubai due to thermals, makes you appreciate it more in the sim - Emirates Flight 521

My only rule is to add a few extra knots to Vref on approach if this software is reading heavy turbulence from the metar file Wettergerät v1.7.0

Next big update really needs to be built in real weather, though. I'm surprised the sim has been around this long without such a basic feature. Or, at least give us modders a way to implement weather changes beyond just adjusting visibility.

I see. I’m aware of Emirates 521, that was an unfortunate event indeed.

From my old FS9 days, (2012-2020) i always used Real Weather, first with FS Global Real Weather, and in the last years with Active Sky Evolution. Winds aloft, real turbulence, windshifts, thermals, rain, snow, various levels of visibility, thunder, CB’s… it was all generated by the tool itself, with highly accurate weather systems and winds and constant updates from realworld data. (With changes every 2-3 minutes in most cases)

I’m deeply saddened that this simming platform, and specially FS 4, has had so many updates, so many revisions, so many changes and yet, all the newer versions come with are new liveries, new aircraft but do not take a serious approach in simulating realweather nor adding an option to inject regular enroute weather. It’s such a pity that instead of clear and concise results on this matter, all these requests are entirely ignored, set aside as unimportant and simply not taken seriously.

Wettergerät is a good tool for Windows users, but there is nothing for MacOS users like me. No SDK, no Weather, nothing…

  • If we just could control the weather parameters from the SDK, I wonder why this is not allowed. My guess is that the sim cannot handle this smooth on the fly, and it must sort of reload, like when we go out to the menu and adjust these parameters.

    Best regards, Juan

I don’t think the limit is there. Even an ancient sim with outdated technology like FS9 (released back in 2003) was able to cope with very modern tools like FS Global Real Weather and Active Sky Advanced, so why would a newer sim created in 2022 like AeroFly FS 4 not be able to handle metar injection, winds aloft, proper and realistic turbulence, rain, snow and all of that in the year 2026?
