What do these switches and DME hold buttons do
What do these 2 switches and DME 1 HOLD and DME HOLD 2 do

They don't appear to do anything, but these functions are accessible by turning the knob at the bottom of the DME display.

DME hold is implemented and when set to the hold position the last frequency selected is being held for the DME receiver. (DME hold operations)

What about the gyro slave switch does it work?

The top left slaving switches click over but appear to be non functional. I had an instructor demonstrate the function once but the only real pilot action was to check for error indication during the ‘direction indicator’ item in check lists. The slaving seems to be very reliable.
The sim slaving error flag is presumably a HDG warning flag in the HSI? (Nothing appears with all the master switches off). -
