How do I use the copilot mode in VR?

I have successfully flown a couple of flights on my PC using the copilot mode. But when I go into VR mode the copilot overlay disappears and I can't figure out how to activate it.

I am trying to use VR mode to sit like a passenger from the wing views and let the plane fly itself. How can I do that?

Settings, Controls, General, Simulation : Scroll down till you see the copilot assignment (mine is set to C). There is also a copilot overlay option, not sure if that works in VR.

I've only tested it with the copilot taking off in VR, that much works for sure.

My copilot assignment is also set to "C" in settings. Additionally, I use shift+C to toggle the copilot overlay in those settings.

It all works fine using my PC in regular mode. But when I enter VR mode on my Quest 3, I can't seem to use my PC keyboard anymore. It doesn't recognize anything I press on the keyboard.

Make sure the Aerofly mirror screen is in focus; if another window is in focus, you lose all keyboard functions.

I usually press C and sit in the copilot sit, specially with airliners. It is nice and very relaxing! AFS4 self piloting of the aircraft works very well and it is easy to use. I do the same in the tablet, just to watch a flight :)

    Best regards, Juan

Does the copilot fly the entire STAR and land the aircraft without user interaction?

If we've done our job correctly then the copilot should be able to takeoff, fly the entire route and do a full stop landing at the destination.

Love the idea to sit on a chair in my home for 12h to fly from Munich to LA in real time and VR in passenger view. 🤣✌️

The key I use after pressing C, is the key that jumps 10% of the route ;) of course I dont have time to do a long flight, and MQ3 battery lasts about an hour :P

I was able to get this to work by using the "C" command. But sometimes if I hit the triggers on my hand controllers, the copilot disengages and now I'm flying the plane by myself. I have tried pressing "C" again to re-engage the copilot and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

One thing I cannot figure out is where the overlays are in VR mode. I can press "M" and look down to see the map view. I can turn on and turn off the heads up display. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to use the overlays in VR mode. Do they not work or are they not visible?

What overlays are you looking for?

The copilot overlay is the main thing I am looking for.

I took this from another thread but here is a picture of what the copilot overlay looks like on PC (not in VR mode)

Oh! Lucky us we don’t have this interface in VR :) personally I don’t like when fixed overlays interfere in the VR space, it breaks the immersion.

It's not a fixed overlay. That view shows the expanded view with all of the options. Usually all you see is a condensed view at the very edge of the screen and it's only 1 icon. You click the icon and the menu expands to show them all like in that picture.

Yes,I understand, but in my experience floating elements that are not part of the VR 3D view breaks the immersion, in VR I want everything as real as possible, and floating icons are not… neither mouse arrow, which is the only one I forgive ^^

That's nice for you but I am looking for assistance how to use the copilot and access the overlay in VR mode. Can anyone assist?

As far as I know the sim doesn’t have what you want, maybe add this request to the wishlist section.

Does the copilot overlay not work in VR mode?
