Save/Upload routes PC ONLY

  • I created a tool a little while back that allows you to save or upload routes into the FMGS/MCDU. It backs up the main.mcf and copies out any route and stores it in a folder. If anyone's interested, I can send a link. Its a very simple program, but it's handy on those long hauls. At some point, I'll expand it to give metar reports for arrival/destination, and full SID/STAR info etc

It also allows me to preview my routes that I've built using Navigraph

    Hi 777Driver

This looks like a great tool, congratulations on the work.

May I ask how it exactly works, does it need any libraries or other dependancies?
May I request you to send me a link to test it out?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Nothing additional needed. Whenever you create a route in the aircraft, click 'Save Co route' in the tool, it will store the route for you in a folder. As you can see in the screenshot, you can view any routes you have saved, and load it back into the aircraft again at a later date. Just run it before you start the sim.

In theory, you should be able to build routes and share them for others to upload to the FMC. As far as I'm aware, flight plans are not aircraft-specific. I've only tested with the A350, though.

I'll send you a link to test. It's late here in the UK, so I'll send it in the Morning.

Very cool tool! you seem to be making alot of great stuff, perhaps make some kind of discord server or github with a collection of your work, and being able to import others routes would be cool, it would work like in real life. I would guess using simbrief isn't a thing in this correct?

  • I originally started making these mods for myself, I'll be looking to get somewhere permanent set up to share. I use SimBrief, but I manually enter the waypoints into the FS4 flight planner; AIRACS doesn't match up, so it's rare I can use the entire SimBrief route. SIDS & STARS tend to be wrong, too.

I can send you a link to this tool, but you should only save routes that you have programmed using the aircraft's MCDU or the FS4 route creator. My mod doesn't add anything new to flight plan functionality; it just allows you to save and upload FS4 flight plans at a later date.

Sharing definitely works. I tested it today

Nice! i do that too sometimes but i mostly enjoy the simplicity of doing it the aerofly way, I am not currently in need of it but i totally support you creating great stuff for the sim :D

  • 777Driver This is great! I actually build something for the last few days which is supposed to inject SimBrief flight plans (or other flight plan file formats) into the main.mcf. Depending on the programming language you used you may readily grab the SimBrief API adapter as well as the part which transforms it into the main.mcf from my prototype. I used Typescript/ JavaScript, but this can easily transformed into any other languages.

(I noticed that Aerofly can handle flight plans without the internal UIDs with only minor limitations to functionality, so actually creating flight plans from outside sources is possible.)

Using simbrief for making flightplans to aerofly would be amazing, keep me updated

  • Beta testing is finished for my route upload software - Just a recap, it allows you to upload a route to any aircraft's FMC in Aerofly FS4. You can set the cruise altitude and weights; it will also display the SID/STAR waypoints for the route you plan to use. You also have the option to save any routes you create in the flight planner or FMC

Included are many of Japan Airlines' domestic and long-haul routes. I'll be uploading BA and Qatar Airways A350 routes to my Google Drive over the next week.

All routes were built using Navigraph & Simbrief

    FMGS.zip

  • Unzip and place the folder 'FMGS' in your documents folder. Inside the subfolders you will see 'Company Route.exe' double click to start the program.

A read me file is included, I am away on vacation, back Sunday. I have a batch of new routes ready to upload.

The first time you load the software, it will ask you to find 'Main.mcf' this is where FS4 aircraft read flight plans. The path is documents\aerolfy FS 4\main.mcf

  • Ultra Long-haul Navigraph route RPLL - KJFK (round-trip) for the release of the A350 Philippines Airlines livery. I'll be adding all of their short-haul domestic, and long-haul A350 routes.

Included is a dispatch sheet with weights, etc. (The Aerolfy A350 burns 15% more fuel than the real aircraft, and has been factored)

Any new routes need to be placed in the company database folder - The file sizes are tiny, so I've attached the zip fileRPLL KJFK.zip this post.

  • Hey mate, you've reminded me to upload version 3.0, quite a few enhancements. There is a read me, but here's a basic overview. It is very easy to use. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1W_Eob1…iew?usp=sharing

TLDR - run the exe, start FS4, then close the dispatch panel - This is the most basic method to use the software - info below for a bit more detail.....

    1. Download version 3.0, inside will be a folder called A350_1000 - Place that folder into Documents\Aerofly FS 4\aircraft
    2. Inside the sub folder A350 Dispatch, you will see FLIGHT-TECH_Dispatch_Panel.exe (Run the exe)

      3. Force engine failure does exactly what is says - before or after V1, bird strike, fires, compressor stalls

4 LEVEL - D Checkride (I'm old, it's called LOFT in the real world now) will throw a severe, medium and minor issue at you on every flight (like a sim training session). Anything from Bird strikes, decompressions in cruise, engine fires, HYD faults with slat/flap issues, every type of failure is simulated and random.

      5. If you keep both unticked, the algorithm will behave more like a real aircraft, you will only see occasional glitches, based on real-world data on the A350, anything from a Generator fault, APU bleed issues... 1000s of combinations, and it is extremely rare that you will get a severe issue (Just like real life)

      6. If you just want to use the realistic mode above, you only need to open and close the panel once before each flight, or just leave the panel open. You can see on mine it says I am on my 29th flight with the software, that number increases every time you open it, so you can keep a track of each flight.

      7. You don't need to push the Dispatch button, as mentioned, opening the panel once is the same as clicking Dispatch.

      8. Clicking Maintenance will clear any major fault once you have landed safely and closed the sim. But again, you don't need to click it, closing and opening it again resets everything for you

      9. Open tech log gives you a sneak peek into what might be wrong with the aircraft, just like reviewing a tech log in the real world. A document is included in the same folder as the exe (MEL PDF), you don't need to read it, but it will tell you what is legal to take off with.

      10. A ground Air cart is included, as long as 1 engine is shut down, and the parking brake is set, you will have ground air to start engines if the APU is inop. Ground air is also used for passengers, so you don't burn lots of fuel and make noise with the APU.

An example of the real world MEL DOC included, when on the ground, if the pilots see an ECAM fault msg, they check the MEL to see if it's legal to fly. So much redundancy on these aircraft, they are legal to fly with multiple issues.

      Cheers

  • Updated my route database - Now includes 65 real-world routes (mainly Japan Air A350 routes)

The latest addition is Tokyo to Madrid. I would highly recommend Schnuffelduffel Japan, Italy, Spain, high definition scenery

Just select your route, and click 'Route uplink' before starting the sim, the route will be fully loaded into the FMGS - works with any Airbus or Boeing
