• Some time ago, a user tried to automatically generate taxisigns for FS 4 from the airport charts. This worked to some extent, but the heights often did not fit by a few meters. I don't know what has become of this project.

  • Next question for IPACS,

Hoping that this time you won't delete this discussion for the umpteenth time. ;)

1- Why does everything seem correct regarding these road signs at EDDS?

Apparently, the ground leveling has been corrected, unless I'm mistaken.

So why are you sticking to your position when the subject is raised?

2 - And of course, this wish list was already mentioned about a year ago.
Thank you in advance for your reply.

  • Taxiway signs are experimental at EDDS. It would take way to much time to place all of them for all airports by hand. That why we first have to develop algorithms to build taxiways first. This will take many months of time of course.

Ich hoffe das ist ein Witz!!;)^^

Das wünsche ich mir schon seit Aerofly FS2, und wenn das wirklich noch so lange dauert,da bin doch erst einmal (wiedermal) raus!! Leider

Would you choose to add internal lighting to the taxiway and runway signs in order to test the performance of illuminated taxiway and runway signs at night?"

Is there any way of enabling correct autoheight for user-created content on the airports? (TMB files in user content folder)

  • I'll clarify the question a bit because I know the work of max3max. He has written a program to automatically create taxi signs from the airfield maps. And now the challenge is the appropriate height positioning of each (!) Individual (!) taxi signs.

  • Affirmative, but I strongly fear that even positioning each panel at the correct height will be sufficient, or that it will be a considerable additional task.

Perhaps at some airports it would suffice, but for example at LSGG or LFPG, ground leveling would be absolutely necessary. That's actually what I had asked IPACS.

Unfortunately, far too many airports have outdated terrain levels.
