Dear Aerofly Development Team,
I would like to report a runway alignment and positioning issue affecting two airports in the simulator: Cluj-Napoca Airport (LRCL) and Iași Airport (LRIA).
After comparing the in-simulator data with real-world aeronautical charts, I noticed that the runways at both airports appear to be incorrectly oriented and/or slightly mispositioned relative to their actual headings.
Details of the issue:
Cluj-Napoca Airport (LRCL)
The main runway (08/26) does not appear to match the correct magnetic orientation. The visual alignment during takeoff and landing deviates from real-world approach paths. This affects procedural accuracy for standard departures and arrivals.
Iași Airport (LRIA)
Runway 14/32 appears to be incorrectly aligned compared to published aeronautical data. The runway heading and placement in the simulator do not correspond accurately to real-world charts. This causes inconsistencies when using navigation aids and flying instrument or visual approaches. This issue reduces realism, especially for users who practice real-world procedures, navigation, and IFR/VFR training scenarios.
Could you please review the geolocation data and runway heading parameters for LRCL and LRIA? A correction in a future update would significantly improve simulation accuracy.
Thank you for your time and for maintaining Aerofly as a high-quality simulator.
Best regards
