How to create easy airport because i don't know can anyone help

  • hi guys im new, i wan't to create my local airport but i can't find any good tutorial to fs4 but only to fs2 can anyone help me?

Unfortunately, I am not aware of a manual for creating airports for the FS 4.

Nevertheless, it is not so difficult to create airports for the FS 4, some notes:

    • Almost all indications for the FS 2 also apply to the FS 4 - at least in principle.
    • Here in the forum there are already a lot of informative contributions to the creation of airports in FS 4, so that it is worthwhile to use the forum search creatively. If you write this together correctly, a manual should come out that would have to fit more than 95%.
    • A good study object is the airports GMME created by me, which I even created some time ago more or less for this purpose.
    • There are also some other, sometimes small airports here in the forum, which are very suitable for studying.

Good luck at this point - and have fun.

  • I suggest expanding this thread as a guide and thus building up a kind of guide.

  • guys how to create bigger airport because it's hard to imagine the files, what they do, and the writing for example i wan't to do LPCR located in the azores archipelago because it's only not made airport in that archipelago and i been here on trip but on sao miguel i will do this but i need more tips how to make taxiways, terminal, textures and the ground can anyone help within this airport

  • I start with the note that in the FS 4 many FS 2 airports work - with some restrictions. An example of this is the legendary airport KCGX CHICAGO MEIGS FIELD from ORBX.

In the FS 4 there is nothing to see:

If you now activate the FS 2 airport, there is still nothing to see in the MENU LOCATION, but the airport is at least already present in the FS 4.

If you now add a WAD file with the same name as the TSC file, which only contains the line <[file][][]>, then the airport is also shown in FS 4.

However, the different positions for PARKING, TAKEOFF and LANDING do not work there, because these data are in the WAD in addition to the TSC, but there with a different coordinate system than LON LAT. I will describe that later.

  • i said wrong thread but if you wan't to suggest something then go to suggestions?(

This is how the coordinates for a WAD file are converted ("GCS" = GeoCoordinatesSystem):

The tables for WINDOWS resp. MAC can help with the conversion.

  • It also works without AirportCreationTool (ACT). ACT has not come beyond the beta phase and can also not do interesting newer things. Here is an overview:

    (1) The AirportCreationTool is helpful for these elements:

    • boundery
    • runway
    • parking_positions
    • helipads
    • tarmac
    • lines
    • xref-objects

All these elements are essentially about the input of coordinates (LONGITUDE, LATITUDE, DIRECTION). This is of course faster and easier with the help of a graphical interface than by looking up the coordinates from maps. For smaller airfields, however, I sometimes do this directly in the TAP or even in the TSC, WAD and TOC.

    (2) The AirportCreationTool does not support these elements:

    • carlots
    • groundtext
    • taxisigns
    • jetways
    • lights
    • airport_lights
    • plants

For all these elements, all data must be manually selected from maps and entered.

I will introduce and describe the individual elements in later posts.

  • The attached file ICAO.tap shows all currently possible code lines for the creation of airfields. In later contributions I will explain how this data is transferred by conversion to the files TMB, TOC, TSC and WAD and which segments can even be entered directly into the TOC, TSC and WAD.

I have learned almost everything I describe here exclusively by looking at example airfields. Further up in this thread there are 2 examples of this: GMME as a larger airfield with all elements, EPZB as a small airfield with only a few elements.
