Clicking on a VOR when typing in a waypoint for the route selector will instead move the view to your departure airports

  • Steps to reproduce:

    1. create flight plan. (KPDX to SGBL as an example)
    2. Search for VOR (OAL as an example)
    3. click on it when it comes up
    4. Watch as the view is centered over your departure airport instead of centering over the selected VOR

This is a really frustrating bug that should be resolved, and makes planning flights super annoying since you now have to manually look for the VOR instead of just tpying it on and having the map center on it.

I'm experiencing this problem too. There's no issue when searching for Waypoint, but when I search for VOR and click on it, the map redirects me back to the departure airport.

  • Just an FYI, as I've been creating ultra-long routes for a flightplan mod - it seems the issue is to do with how far the VOR or NDB is from the aircraft; the sim has a range limit. If you select a VOR beyond that range, the map takes you back to the departure location.

You can test this by moving the aircraft along the route; the planner will find it if you are close enough. Not sure what the max distance is, a few hundred miles 🤔
