Custom sounds convertion issue

  • Hello, I am a beginner and trying to create custom aircraft sounds. Often times, it would glitch (radio-ish sound, or odd lower pitch). Why does this occur? My WAV file had perfectly sounded like normal but when I tried to convert to TSB using AFS 4 scenery converter (aorcraft converter does not work for me), i tried the TSB and for the A380, had a really odd low pitch compared to the high pitch i got in the audio. Could any developer here or experienced member here help. Regards. I use Audacity to edit audio with 44,100Hz sampling rate and 16-bit signed PCM.

  • The supported sound file format is 22050 Hz, wav files.

The sounds are played back at different speeds depending on what the tmd file of the aircraft defines it. This is used to manipulate sound pitch as engine RPM changes for example.

Even with 22050 hz, wav file, i still have somehow lower pitch (more like a320)

    This is what i expected:

  • And how does it sound like in the sim?

You have to check at what speed the playback is happening in the TMD file. The default sound may expect a full toga sound not a reduced takeoff thrust as in the video. So it then pitches down the sound because the engine RPM is not at TOGA.

I put lever at FLX/MCT detent and it sounds like a 787 but deeper. How to check such speed in the tmd file?
