FWC Warnings (Airbus)

  • I have successfully added ECAM 'Memos' for the Hydraulic Accumulator, oil level low, fuel level low, etc., etc. I am not able to use the same method to create full FWC warnings.

Are they inhibited from being added by modders? Example below, the G & Y systems should take priority over the FLAP SYS faults; however, if I clear that flap fault msg, no FWC Hydraulic msg appears (despite being added in the same format as working messages) I do get the ECAM chime though, and the memos clearly are fine.

I can live without getting them to work; the core system works correctly, it would just be a nice icing on the cake for realism.

  • Warnings and cautions as well as memos need to be added in the TMD file, specifically as individual objects and in the flight warning computer list of messages AND they have to be added to the checklist.tmc section for the abnormal faults. The TMD defines when a message is active and the checklist.tmc defines the ECAM message that is displayed to the pilots. Checklist items that are detected automatically also need to define an output in the tmd what corresponds to the input for the respective item. Inoperative items on the status page are added in the TMD file currently.

All this may change at some point.

  • Engine oil level is now dynamic and drains at roughly 0.5 quarts per hour (more than enough for an ultra-long-haul flight)

Depletion now causes loss of oil pressure and total seizure and shutdown of the affected engine; slow oil leaks are now included.

Oil pressure is dynamic by default; however, there is now a small chance it can become critical.
