Flight count bug

  • Hello, I noticed another bug regarding the career menu:

Takeoffs or landings aren't recognized always. This means that if you do a complete flight, the flight counter doesn't increase. If I looked in the recent flights menu it said that the flight started or ended a few feet above the ground. This is also visible in the takeoff/landing count because one of these doesn't increase after the flight.

I never crashed during a flight, used the time skip feature or used the go back in time feature.

Another type of the bug happens if I went back to the main menu and then reentered the simulation. After the flight, a takeoff from the departure airport and a landing at the destination airport is shown, but no full flight.

What I mentioned happens only a few times, not always. It happens very often when flying helicopters compared to other aircraft categories.

    Thank you in advance.

  • Do these flights show up in the recent flights menu?

The first scenario I mentioned shows up in the career menu like a normal flight, but if you klick on it, it says that the flight ended 300 feet in the air.

The second scenario I mentioned shows up as a takeoff and a landing. The landing begins right where the takeoff ended.

    Here are some screenshots:

    First scenario:

The flight with the A321 was the flight where it didn't count the landing. After the flight, only the takeoff count increased by one. I didn't crash, left the simulation, used the time skip feature or used the go back in time feature.

    Second scenario:

During the flight with the A350, I left the simulation once. That should be no problem because in the December update this feature with the flight state got added. It works for most times, but sometimes it does not. I also also didn't crash, used the time skip feature or used the go back in time feature. The landing and takeoff count increased by one, the Full flight count stayed.

I first tried paying more attention before I decided to report this, but I have no idea when and why this happens. But I still noticed a few things:

    1. The first scenario happens way mor often when flying helicopters.
    2. When flying helicopters, (when the bug occurs) it never counts/recognizes the takeoff, only the landing. Sometimes it happens with 50% of all flights, sometimes it never happens.
    3. When flying an airliner, (when the bug occurs) it never counts/recognizes the landing, only the takeoff. It happens by far not as often compared to helicopters, and happens more consistent.

  • Thank you for the screenshots.

    What device are you using?
Did you have any interruptions in the use of the app, i.e. did you receive a notification and pulled down the notification center to read it or did you make screenshots of the app in between or something like that, where Aerofly FS may not have been the top level app on screen?

When flying helicopters I think the code currently still only checks for takeoff and landing on runways. So taking off from a helipad and landing on one may not be counted correctly - but there is some code that should technically allow this, maybe it's not working reliably.

The flight with the A321 got not interrupted by anything. Other flights I did take screenshots and screen recordings and it counted as a full flight.

The flight with A350 I once left the simulation. But this should be no problem, by other flights I left the simulation multiple times and there it counted.

The helicopter flights I did from runway to runway. I noticed that if you takeoff completely still that the chance that it counts the takeoff is way lower than when I spin the helicopter using the rudder and takeoff when still spinning.

    I'm using a Google Pixel 9
