Volanta/SimBrief support & VATSIM connectivity — any update?

    Hi everyone,

    I know these topics have come up before, so I'll keep this short. I've spent a good amount of time on other simulators, and I'm considering switching to FS4 mainly for the performance and how easily everything is accessible within the sim — but two things are thinking me.

    Volanta and SimBrief still don't support FS4, so switching would mean losing my flight log and dispatch workflow. And VATSIM connectivity is still missing, which is a big part of how I fly online.

    Just wanted to check if either of these is still being discussed, or if there's any update since the last time this came up. Thanks! :)

    Just an FYI, I use simbrief and Navigraph in FS4, but you cant use the latest airac and import flightplans into the FMC.

    I created a mod the allows you to save simbrief flightplans


    Forget Vatsim integration, I use both sims, depending on my needs.

    You'll be running a cheap 8070 GPU In 2035 before you'll see vatsim integration.

    All that aside, this sim is amazing once you've added custom scenery, and FPS never drops below 90 with a good rig, even in VR

    That's probably a fair read on where things stand. No harm in keeping an eye on it and seeing if anything changes down the line, though.

    Good to hear about the scenery/FPS part. Could you point me toward what scenery mods/addons are worth looking into beyond the vanilla install, and where people usually share/install them (forum section, GitHub, Discord, etc.)?

    If you have a browse of the Mod forum, you'll find some links to external sites. Unfortunately the main resource for mods closed down some months back, so things are a bit fragmented at the moment.

    I'll be home later, I can put together a list of some must have scenerys. Tbf default scenery is great too, and the devs are adding improvements on a fairly regular basis

    That's really kind of you, thanks! Whenever you get the chance to put that list together, I'd appreciate it. Good to know the default scenery holds up well too — no rush either way.
