Why is there an option to manually disable cockpit interaction?

  • Dear developers

I use Aerofly FS Global, and I recently noticed that the Cockpit Interaction feature can be manually disabled.

    This confuses me a little.

If I disable Cockpit Interaction, I can no longer click any buttons, switches, or knobs in the cockpit. At the same time, there do not seem to be any alternative quick controls that allow me to adjust autopilot settings such as altitude, speed, heading, or vertical speed.

In that case, how am I supposed to configure and manage the aircraft?

You might say that simply enabling Cockpit Interaction solves the problem, and that is true.

However, what I do not understand is why the option to disable Cockpit Interaction exists in the first place.

  • Maybe for users who prefer simple manual flying without autopilot, or who want to prevent accidental clicks on cockpit buttons and other actions when they tap/click/scroll on the screen and zoom in/out.

However, I always prefer the fully interactive cockpit too, this is the... real realism 😀

  • Could there be ways to selectively disable unwanted and irritating functions?

With the FS4 mouse wheel increasing or decreasing the value of a control knob, it would be nice to have screen zooming positively not available. Zooming instead of adjusting is an enormous pain in the end, can zooming be only available in combination with a second control input? We adjust with the mouse wheel far, far more than we zoom.

In mobile with tilt control selected could control column swiping be disabled? 99% at least of my stick or wheel movements are unwanted and even a minor ‘unwanted grab’ will throw the plane out of control. Is it necessary to have permanently live control columns when tilt and especially analog control methods are available options? How about fixing the 737 control column but leaving the yoke’s elevator trim sensitive area active?

Can FS4 and mobile game changing major events such as simply clicking on guarded in real life switches be disabled? The permanent in the sim, jet engine electric generator drive disconnects surely need to be available only with appropriate positive selection user interaction. In FS4 requiring multiple key combinations or mouse wheel and perhaps held right mouse button could make a guarded in real life button available instead of an annoyance, in mobile such a drastic selection might require perhaps three distinct screen taps in quick succession.

In mobile simply taping the screen to drag the point of view will in too many head-down or head-up cases activate and change some specifically selected operation or setting. Could there be differentiation between one finger and two finger swipes or some other way to facilitate non chaotic view panning in mobile? it could be provided for inside a click and forget selection menu.

Enough for one moan, just trying to get the sim more perfect. Reining in nasty out of control mouse wheel zooming would be my top priority.

    Thanks and sorry!
