Black Box Recorder

Version 2 of my Flight recorder is available; this requires the Aerofly Bridge DLL.

It provides three separate functions in one.

1. Black Box/Flight Data recorder (DFDR): Hdg, Altitude, position, ground speed, and other parameters are logged from takeoff to Landing. Logging is reduced during the cruise phase.

2. Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runway_Aw…Advisory_System

3. Quick Access Recorder (QAR) A "quick access recorder" refers to an airborne device installed on commercial aircraft that collects and stores raw flight data. Airlines use this to easily monitor flight operations and aircraft performance without accessing the main, highly protected "black box" flight recorders

You can easily see if approach criteria was met (within Vapp, no excessive deviation by 1000 ft & 500 ft) hard landing monitoring

Raw footage (unedited) demonstrating RAAS callouts during a botched landing (long flare/float beyond the threshold). Most of the main real-world callouts have been included.

ROW/ROP is now fully implemented. Was scratching my head over this, since the devs had already added most of the ROW/ROP functions, but many of the PFD displays and callouts were not active; maybe it was just a work in progress.

Runway Overrun Prevention System (ROPS) | SKYbrary Aviation Safety

This is the A350-only version of RAAS. It integrates the A350 ROW/ROP and only works with the Advanced Mod

To start the BlackBox/QAR, it operates similarly to the real world: push the DFDR button during preflight (above the captain's head); this will turn blue and power the recorder with the engines off. Once the first engine starts, power automatically transfers, the blue light goes out, and the recorder continues to function until the aircraft has landed, both engines shut down, and the parking brake is set.

A QAR report is generated, and a full flight data recorder CSV file is available to view (file sizes are tiny)

Keep in mind, in real life, it is really only the QAR report that is looked at, unless there is a major incident or crash.

To enable/disable ROW/ROP, it is on by default; disable it using the overhead ROW>ROP button (Back right of overhead panel)

ROW/ROP was already included in the A350; I have just added the missing features. RAAS is now fully functional, and works at any airport in FS4

Anth5485 is converting these to Mac. He has an older version working. Hopefully, he will have this latest version running soon. The dll is not required for Mac.

Anyone is free to try to convert these mods to other platforms; unfortunately, I don't have time to work on multiple platforms.

Had a few PM's regarding this mod. Not throwing my toys out of the pram, but grab this now before the devs delete the post. I'm done here for now; not releasing mods anymore.

Thanks to Jetpack for his help over the past year; absolute legend . I find this forum frustrating; a little tired of the random deletions. I will pop in every now and again to see what other modders are up to.

Place the RAAS folder in the Documents Aerofly FS4 folder

Place the external_dll folder in the Documents Aerofly FS4 Folder

Run - RAAS_Lite_GUI.exe

- No RCDR GND CTL button is required.
- Recording starts when the first available EngineRunning1-4 signal becomes active.
- Supports 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-engine aircraft where AeroflyBridge exports those signals.
- RAAS is no longer gated by the A350 ROW/ROP switch.
- After landing, parking brake and <=2 kt for 10 seconds returns the recorder to standby.
- A later engine start begins another sector without restarting the GUI.
