Delco Carousel from the game!

The Delco Carousel IV-A (CIVA) is an inertial navigation system (INS) developed by Delco Electronics and introduced in the 1970s. It automated oceanic routing by calculating the aircraft's position and velocity using gyroscopes and accelerometers, enabling precise navigation without relying on ground-based radio stations. I think that if the game adds a "Direct To" function for the FMCs, that would get us 70% of the way to having CIVA functionality; the coordinates and the system modeling are already there—it even shows wind direction and so on. From the looks of it, it would just be a matter of configuring the buttons and the systems, I suppose. It would be great, too, since it would be useful for FMCs/MCDUs as well. (F15/F18/MB339/Airbus family/Boeing family and concorde use this type system using coordinates, others like B727 too for exp)

The direct to function has nothing to do with this. This is a sequence of legs, just like what we already have. And the Concorde that has this system already can follow the route that you give it, it's just the interface in the virtual cockpit that is not implemented yet. If we decide to improve the Concorde aircraft system at some point then this will be on the wish list.

I'd have to check if the MB339 has the FMS following implemented yet but it doesn't even have an autopilot in the real world, just a flight director so it's a bit pointless anyway.

I know this Concorde update isn't coming anytime soon, but it would be legendary.…
