A321 overshoot problem

    Hey guys,

    I seem to be running into an issue in the a321. Every time the autopilot descends too little and at a very low descend rate, not enough. I keep ending up way to high on approach. So what am I doing wrong here? Thanks for the help! -

    • I initiate descend at T/D
    • I engage LS and APPR button around 8000 ft and 5000 ft
    • Speedbrakes don’t really work and I just want it to do it automatically

    I start the descent with DEST 80nm before the T/D point, sometimes I start it with OP DEST 40nm before. The reason for the rapid descent is that it remains constant at 'Mach' speed. During the descent, I switch the speed to manual and set it to IAS.
