Multiple Radios

    Hi Grand Master Jan

    I am working on the C130 Navigators station and have hit a slight snag. I want it to be completely independent of the front seats, mainly for masochistic reasons. (blind instrument flying from the navigators station) To that end I would like to have NAV3 and NAV4, TACAN3 and TACAN4 plus ADF3 and ADF4. I have no space on the display texture to add the extra radios so I had planned to introduce a display2 texture. Basically a copy of display texture and display_source_light. I have introduced the code for this and FS4 is quite happy but I do not have any output from the radios and the displays are blank. Guidance needed please

    Is it possible to have radios 3 and 4 ?

    Is it possible to have a display2 texture ?

    Thanks Grand Master Jan. It was simply the missing second texture animation. My dream of torturing the users continues. From the Navigators seat you should be able to complete a whole flight from take off to landing without even looking outside. Instrument flying at its toughest =O=O=O

    Yes I still think the TMD is mumbo jumbo but at least I understand it now :thumbup::thumbup:

    I have managed to get ADF 3 and 4 to work OK with needles that point i the correct direction. Nav 3 and 4, plus tacan 3 and 4 refuse to cooperate. The radios themselves seem to work Ok as far as the frequencies go, Ie turning the knobs give the correct frequencies and tacan also gives the correct numbers and converted frequencies. This is confirmed with monitoring and the displays themselves. The nav-receivers then fail to output anything. The coding is identical to Nav 1 and tacan 1 and naming has obviously been adjusted. As an example Tacan4Receiver.OutputRadial simply gives 0.000 but Tacan1Receiver.OutputRadial gives a meaningful number.

    So my question is, does the sim allow for more than 2 Nav and 2 Tacan. I'm aware that the tacans use the Nav but it would be nice to know.

    I would say I'm pulling my hair out but according to an 8 year old grandson, I don't have much to pull out.

    The underlying architecture does not really know anything about the number of nav receivers in the aircraft so that shouldn't be an issue. We have 4 receivers on the A320, A350, A380, B747, B777, B787 and many more aircraft.

    Check that the nav receiver frequency is set correctly and that the input enable code line is either not there or is most certainly true, i.e. electric power is available.

    Thanks for GM for the nudge in the right direction and I have now found the error.

    StepSize was set to 50.00 instead of 50000.0. Also the ranges and value were reduced to account for this stepsize error. DOH:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    Having to wait 244 seconds to reply after trying to help someone else in another post is getting rather tedious. 500 seconds is 8.33 minutes, come on guys this is extreme.....only 23 seconds.....
