When you retract flaps the spoilers are stowed. Usually spoilers are stowed first by the pilots, so if you retract flaps with spoilers still active the automation does this for you.

When coming in to landing and the Airbus asks for thrust lever retard the assistance does this automatically if you don't do it at 20ft.
