• What is the most helpful way to report bugs?

    On OS X 10.9.2 there is a fairly reproducible problem after some heli crashes, particularly into the terrain past the wind sock in the default scene. The frame rate drops to roughly half of the usual 60 frames/sec. There is also an odd sound in the background.

    If I select the "Load model" menu option, after clicking the "Load" button the problem is resolved.

    I could capture a profile via the OS X Activity Monitor or send along logs if that would be helpful.

    Hello mrf,

    The aerofly5 had the same problem and I reported it Ipacs back then.
    The problem is, I think, that the helicopter crashes and puts the main rotor disk into heavy vibrations. The flybarless system wants to stabilize it but fails and the physics go crazy. Or the rotor disk forces are strangely changed with the same results.
    The helicopter then instantaneously dissapperars from the screen and jumps all over the place with the frame rates dropping extremly .
    (The calculation intervalls get set to a much smaller scale to increase the precision of the simulation and to "catch" the unrealistic behaviour - but that takes more computing power which hits a limit and the frame rates drop). If one parameter value "explodes" and rises up into infinity, the aerofly resets the aircraft in the next simulation step (instantly).

    The best way to avoid that bug is not to crash or at least not to crash as hard ^^. If It does happen, just hit the space bar and reset the heli. You can also reload the aircraft but that takes longer.
